Peacock features a robust catalog of movies and TV shows, with even more coming to the streaming service in July 2023. Launched to great fanfare in 2020, Peacock changed the streaming game with its mixture of free and paid content, and the streamer was able to land top-tier shows like The Office because of its NBC affiliation. In the years since its debut, Peacock has further expanded its reach by including many hit films on its platform, and it offers one of the largest streaming collections available.
Like most streaming services, Peacock’s catalog isn’t stagnant, and each month the streamer adds dozens of new shows and movies to keep things fresh. Additionally, Peacock has also become a home for live-streaming sports, and their lucrative deals with the MLB, Premiere League, and World Wrestling Entertainment have made them a truly multifaceted platform. The best TV shows on Peacock represent the upper echelon of streaming entertainment, and the service has begun to create memorable series and movies that rival the original content of their competitors. In July 2023, more than 60 movies and TV shows are new to Peacock, and that’s excluding live sporting events.

The first of the month usually marks the biggest drop for library movies on Peacock. More than six dozen movies are new to Peacock on July 1 as a result. While most of them are standalone features, there are also quite a few movie collections being added. Some of the ones most subscribers will be looking forward to are the main American Pie movies (not the later spinoffs), The Hunger Games franchise, and the Jaws movies. Peacock subscribers will be able to binge the entire series at their leisure.
Also mixed in with all of those library additions are quite a few Hallmark movies. The majority of the movies featuring a Christmas storyline are Hallmark additions. That’s because Hallmark does a “Christmas in July” event. The network airs holiday movies throughout the month in addition to its usual content, and some of its older holiday picks, like The Christmas Train, featuring a woman traveling cross-country by train during the holiday season, are being added to Peacock for the month as well.
July 2
Unlike most of Peacock’s library entries, there are a few new movies added to the streaming throughout the month instead of on the first. The Outfit is one of those movies. Though originally released in 2022, the film is right in line with old school thrillers and gangster movies. The Outfit stars Mark Rylance, Zoey Deutch, Dylan O’Brien, and Johnny Flynn, and the movie tracks the goings-on in a tailor shop that is used by a family that is part of the Irish Mob. The cutter is caught in the middle as conflict happens, and the audience spends just as much time trying to figure out who the “rat” is as the characters.
July 6

July 6 is all about new shows from Kevin Hart on Peacock. Hart to Heart is an interview series in which Hart speaks with other celebrities about their lives and works. Guests for season 3 include Dwayne Johnson, Issa Rae, John Cena, Will Ferrell, Will Smith, and more. The first two episodes drop on July 6, and every week following two more episodes will be added to Peacock. Hart’s other show premiering is a recording of his standup special that he performed live from late 2022 to early 2023. July 6 will bring Hart’s comedic and serious sides to Peacock at the same time.

- Myth of the Zodiac Killer (2023)
Peacock is one of the streamers that is known for its crime drama and true crime content. Not only is the streamer home to franchises like Law & Order, but it also features a plethora of docuseries about every crime topic imaginable. The latest entry into new docuseries on Peacock is this limited series special. All the episodes of Myth of the Zodiac Killer will drop on the same day. The docuseries examines the crimes connected to the never-caught Zodiac Killer and asks whether the Zodiac Killer is even real.
July 12

July 12 sees both a new season of a tv show and a new movie added to Peacock. Odd Mom Out is a sitcom about a mom adjusting to being among wealthier parents that originally aired on Bravo. The third season is the final season of the series, and all episodes will be available at once. Steering far away from sitcoms is the 2022 movie Firestarter. If that name sounds familiar, it should. The original movie starred Drew Barrymore and was inspired by a Stephen King story.
This time around Ryan Kiera Armstrong plays the titular role with Zac Efron as her father. Though it wasn’t as well received as the original movie, Firestarter didn’t do too poorly during its initial streaming release on Peacock. It was one of the many Universal movies to receive a simultaneous theatrical and streaming release for a short period of time, being watched by over two million households then.

While there are a couple of new library movies added to Peacock on July 16, the more exciting addition is You Won’t Be Alone. The movie provides a new take on the mythology surrounding witches, twisting horror tropes in its story. You Won’t Be Alone follows a young woman named Nevena who is turned into a shapeshifting witch on her 16th birthday and struggles to understand and adjust to her abilities. Though others around her fear witches, Nevena finds a way to use the gifts given to her to survive.
July 17
- The Twilight Saga (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012)
The Twilight Saga’s five movies don’t get added to Peacock with the rest of the library entries on the first, which is probably a good thing. In the past, when the movies have been added to a streaming service, they tend to dominate the top-performing movies for weeks at a time, as happened the last time Twilight was added to the Netflix lineup. The movies, inspired by the Stephenie Meyer novels of the same name, follow Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) as she falls in love with a vampire named Edward (Robert Pattinson) and learns about the supernatural world around her as a result. The movies made stars of Stewart, Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
July 18
- Love Island USA, Season 5 Premiere
With Love Island USA’s season 4, the series moved to Peacock from network television. The reality dating series is hosted by Sarah Hyland and sees a bunch of single people seeking to find a match in Fiji for season 5. The first episode premieres on Peacock on July 18, and fans won’t have to wait long for more. Peacock will stream 6 episodes a week with a new episode added almost daily throughout the month of July.

Voyagers has a lot of similar concepts to Lord Of The Flies as it sees a bunch of teenagers in a confined space trying to survive without adults leading the way. The difference is that the story doesn’t just center on young men, and it’s also set in space. The story follows a group of young people who have been raised specifically for a mission to colonize the new planet. Because it’s an 86-year journey, precautions have been taken to make sure a new generation will be born and to keep the group docile. As they discover the truths about their mission, the group starts to distrust one another and turn on one another, creating an interesting sci-fi thriller for Peacock’s July lineup.
July 22
Andrea Brooks stars as Annika in this Hallmark movie, a young woman who wants to reunite her grandfather with his lost love. She documents other love stories as she does, and teams up with her former college sweetheart Ryan (Patch May) to do it. Hallmark fans who want to catch this movie have to be quick though. It’s Hallmark’s policy that its new movies are only available for 72 hours to stream on Peacock.
July 23
Michael Bay’s 2022 Ambulance is actually a remake of a Danish movie that sees a pair of adopted brothers (Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen) who take on a risky heist in order to make some quick cash. When their plan goes awry, they take first responders in an ambulance hostage. The movie provides a unique hostage situation since the characters are always on the move, and it provides a lot of great action sequences among the new movies on Peacock.
July 27
- The Croods: Family Trees Season 7 (Episodes 1-6)
- Twisted Metal, Season 1 Premiere (All Episodes Streaming)
There’s something for young audiences and something for older audiences on Peacock as July comes to a close. Season 7 of The Croods, which is set after the events of the 2020 movie, will add six episodes to the streamer. Older audiences, however, have been anticipating the new Twisted Metal series. Inspired by the video games of the same name, the series stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, and Thomas Hayden Church. It was initially announced in 2019, but didn’t head into active development until 2021.
July 30
Taylor Cole and Kanoa Goo star in Aloha Heart for Hallmark. Cole stars as a conservationist who travels to Hawaii for a friend’s wedding. Between helping prepare for the wedding, however, she ends up helping a hew hotel manager (Goo) make big changes to his facilities. After its debut on the network, it will be added to Peacock. Like A Lifelong Love, this is another Hallmark movie that is only available on Peacock for 72 hours after it debuts.
In addition to the new content added directly to Peacock throughout July, the streamer will also have many reality shows and game shows that air on NBC-Universal-owned networks available to stream the next day. That includes Bravo’s Real Housewives franchises, Telemundo’s Top Chef VIP, and more. New episodes of the drama series The Blacklist will also be available on Peacock the day after they air on NBC. New episodes of Saturday Night Live would usually be available the day after they air as well, but the series is currently on hiatus due to their writers’ room currently being shut down. New episodes of scripted programming will not be available until after the Writers Guild of America strike has concluded and studio heads have negotiated a contract that pays the union fair wages.
