Amazon’s custom streaming service Prime Video is known for its robust catalog, and there are plenty of new movies & TV shows on Prime Video in July 2023. First launched in 2006, Prime Video quickly proved itself to be so much more than a repository of content, and it even began producing its own shows and movies as well. Backed up by thousands of on-demand movies and series from every era, Prime Video is one of the largest streaming services available. Despite its already massive collection of content to stream, Prime Video continues to grow each month as new shows and movies are added almost daily.




With backing from a massive entity like Amazon, Prime Video has almost unlimited resources at its disposal when it comes to producing original content. Some of the best Prime Video original films are on the level with theatrical Hollywood productions, and big named directors like Spike Lee and Jim Jarmusch have worked with the studio. The first of the month always sees numerous new movies and TV shows added to Prime Video. July 1 will include a lot of exciting movie titles that audiences of all tastes can choose from. Among the new arrivals is the Men in Black trilogy starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as agents within a secret organization that monitors alien activity on Earth. While the sequels are often regarded as a step down in quality, the first movie is a terrific sci-fi action-comedy with a brilliant pairing of the two leads.

July 1 will also see a number of Best Picture Oscar winners being added to Prime Video, including Ridley Scott’s historical epic Gladiator, the neo-noir masterpiece No Country for Old Men, and IMDb’s top-ranked movie of all time, The Shawshank Redemption. July 4 will see the star-studded ensemble of one of this year’s biggest surprise hits added among the new movies on Prime Video. 80 For Brady is the comedy starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, and Rita Moreno as friends who set out to make good on their dream to go to the Super Bowl and meet NFL superstar Tom Brady. The simple setup for the road trip story is just an excuse for audiences to enjoy the charms of the cast of 80 For Brady with all four legendary actors having a lot of fun.

The Horror of Dolores Roach follows a woman who is released from prison after taking the fall for her ex-boyfriend. Also premiering on the same day is the fantasy adventure The Portable Door featuring Christoph Waltz and Sam Neil as well as the Columbian crime thriller Los Iniciados.

July 14 will see the long-awaited return of the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. The romantic series follows Belly (Lola Tung) who finds herself in a love triangle between brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) who are both her childhood friends. There is also the addition of the Best Picture winner The King’s Speech. Based on a true story, Colin Firth stars as King George VI who works to overcome his speech difficulties in order to address a worried nation at the outbreak of World War II.

While it remains to be seen if that gamble will pay off, his first attempt at such a feat resulted in Dances with Wolves. The movie stars Costner as a Union soldier at the end of the Civil War who is stationed at an outpost where he grows to form a kinship with the nearby Sioux people — and it will be available to watch on Prime Video at the end of July .
