Aaron Taylor-Johnson becomes 007 in an impressive new fanmade poster for James Bond 26. After first joining the franchise back in 2006, Daniel Craig said farewell to Bond with 2021’s No Time To Die. Since the actor’s swan song, the question of who will be the next actor to take on the iconic character has been top of mind, with Taylor-Johnson seemingly emerging as a frontrunner earlier this year.
Now, as the wait for any concrete James Bond 26 news drags on, a fanmade poster by artist Axel Amirón images Taylor-Johnson as 007. Check out the poster below:
The art features Taylor-Johnson very much looking the part of 007, wielding a compact pistol and wearing a classy black tuxedo.
Will Aaron Taylor-Johnson Actually Be The Next James Bond?
Since No Time To Die (and even before then), various actors have been rumored to serve as Craig’s replacement. Idris Elba was long a popular fan-cast for the role, but he made his feelings clear on the matter last year, essentially removing himself from consideration. Taylor-Johnson quickly then became the next hot name to be associated with the role earlier this year after he reportedly had a meeting with producer Barbara Broccoli that went well.
Taylor-Johnson would subsequently respond to these Bond casting rumors, neither confirming nor denying that a meeting took place, and simply calling the rumors “flattering“. Since then, Taylor-Johnson has remained the most popular pick among pundits, but actors like Henry Cavill (who was once up for Casino Royale against Craig) and James Norton are also top choices.
It’s still entirely unclear whether Taylor-Johnson will actually become the next James Bond, but, at 33, he is in the right age range for the part. While the producers haven’t definitely stated that they’re looking for an actor in their early 30s, they did say that the role will require at least a ten-year commitment, if not more. This means that a former top choice like Tom Hardy, who is now 45, might be too old, and it might even hurt Cavill’s 007 chances as well, with the actor now 40.
